LaToya Mullen is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is also pursuing her certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. LaToya graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2016 and completed Board certification through AANC the same year. LaToya has spent time working in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings serving both adults and adolescents/children with various psychiatric illnesses. Before pursuing a career as an FNP, LaToya graduated from VCU with a Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy in 2007. She worked as a Recreation Therapist at Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center and Riverside behavioral Health.
Soon after, LaToya graduated from Norfolk State University with her Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 2010. LaToya has worked as a Registered Nurse, specializing in Emergency Acute Care, Primary Care and Psychiatric Nursing for 5 years. She also spent a year overseas in Kuwait and Afghanistan providing occupational health nursing as an government contractor in 2014.
LaToya believes that when "I" is replaced by "We" even illness becomes wellness. Therefore, becoming well is a team effort where provider and client must work together to produce a healthy mind, body, and soul.
LaToya is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Incorporated and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
