Jessica Waters, M.S.Ed, CSAC, Resident in Counseling

“In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into
safety” – Abraham Maslow
In life, we may be challenged with many situations that make it difficult for us to step in a
direction. My role as a therapist is to help you build those stepping stones that will support you
in each direction, forward to growth or back to safety!
I am currently a Resident in Counseling with my Master’s degree from Old Dominion University
and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). I have experience in many therapeutic
settings, allowing me to help individuals in many different stages of their growth. Working from
a collaborative and holistic approach, my goal is to create a nonjudgmental space for us to
explore any thoughts or feelings with which you may be struggling! I’m passionate about
mental health and emphasize the importance of supporting a person as they learn their
strengths. My specialties include individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and addiction
as well as life transitions.
In my experience as a therapist, I’ve found providing the open space for client’s to share with
no judgment promotes new perspectives, identifies strengths, and most importantly,
encourages independence! Wherever you are in your journey, I hope to support you through
those steps!
